The Procurement Sector of Thimphu Dzongkhag is responsible for managing and overseeing all procurement activities within the dzongkhag administration and its gewogs to ensure transparency, efficiency, and compliance with national procurement laws and policies. This sector plays a key role in planning and executing the purchase of goods, services, and works needed for various development projects and administrative operations.

By adhering to the guidelines set forth in Bhutan’s Public Procurement Act and related regulations, the Procurement Sector safeguards the principles of fairness, competitiveness, and accountability in all contracting processes. It coordinates with sector heads and gewog administrations to prepare procurement plans, issue tenders, evaluate bids, and award contracts, while also monitoring contract performance and ensuring timely delivery. Through its diligent work, the Procurement Sector helps optimize resource use and supports the effective implementation of development initiatives across Thimphu Dzongkhag.
