12 June 2025: His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen graced the 16th Convocation of the Royal University of Bhutan, where 1,931 students from 11 RUB colleges received their degrees and diplomas.
Addressing the graduates, His Majesty said that we are living in a time of profound change and extraordinary promise—an unprecedented opportunity to shape the future in line with our highest aspirations. Alongside the strong foundations of our heritage and culture, and the advantages of global technological progress, Bhutan’s greatest strength lies in its people, especially the youth, enabling the nation to undertake ambitious initiatives such as the Gelephu Mindfulness City to transform Bhutan and the lives of Bhutanese.
His Majesty also underscored the importance of reading and learning, highlighting the immense potential of a well-read citizenry, rich with knowledge and wisdom.
To emphasize the significance of Artificial Intelligence, which has become ubiquitous across the world, part of the Royal Address took the form of a conversation with an AI assistant about the Gelephu Mindfulness City—exploring its objectives, opportunities, and recent developments.
