The Dzongkhag Tender Committee, led by Dasho Dzongda, has successfully taken over the completed 6 km Chimithangka–Jadingkha Chiwog blacktopped road under the HICDP/SDP funding. The project has now been officially handed over to the Mewang Gewog Administration and the Jadingkha community.

To ensure quality, Dzongkhag engineers conducted core cutting tests at three different locations using hired equipment to assess the thickness and quality of the blacktopping. We are proud to share that the road meets the required standards as per the Bill of Quantities (BoQ) specifications.

Jadingkha village, home to 36 households and recognized as an Organic Village, will greatly benefit from this development. The newly blacktopped road will allow farmers to transport their organic produce to Thimphu more efficiently, while also improving access for travelers heading to Jela Dzong.

Going forward, the Road User Association of Jadingkha will take responsibility for the road’s maintenance and management.

Later in the day, the committee also visited organic farms managed by 18 dedicated group members — a testament to the community’s commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly practices.
